Christ came
on Christmas day
and a tinseled Christmas
crowd crushed
Him through store
after stone.
Christ came
on Christmas day
and received
no gifts, no
promises and
not even a santa stocking.
Christ came
on Christmas day
and like a lonely
old widow,
was deserted
by Christians spitting
Christmas greetings
on their way
To crowed firesides.
Christ came on
Christmas day
to a tin-can
onion box house
and threw Himself,
crying at the feet
of a battered family
and they saw Him not.
Christ came on
Christmas day
and built a fire
in the cold
that warmed hands that
warmed others
who warmed others….
